  • Swine Flu in pigs

Swine flu is present in humans as well as pigs. Most of time pigs pass the flu to the humans, but sometimes we can pass it to them. The symptoms of pig with influenza include fever, lethargy, sneezing, coughing, difficulty breathing, and decreased appetite. The mortality rate is usually low, but the virus produces weight loss and poor growth, which causes economic hardships for farmers.

To prevent flu in pigs they can be vaccinated, or separated from the existing infected pigs. To read about swine flu symptoms in humans click on the link.
